Mission Statement
Welcome to the Edenham High School. Edenham High has established a reputation for providing a caring supportive environment in which children of all abilities can flourish. Staff are committed and caring and work with parents to achieve increasingly good standards of learning and behaviour. An excellent curriculum is in place with a wide range of personalised options. The majority of year 10 and 11 follow a traditional academic pathway, with options for extensions both in school and outside. A significant minority of students choose from a wide range of vocational courses both in school and in college for part of their timetable. This very wide range of choices means that students leave Edenham well equipped to benefit from further study at Advanced and degree level, or for vocational study in a school or a college or to compete successfully for an excellent job. The school has received a whole host of national accolades in recent years demonstrating the wide range of learning experiences available to students. The school was the first in the authority to become a specialist school and has recently been the first in the authority to recieve the national ICT kitemark. We hold the Healthy Schools Award, the Intermediate International Award and the national financial kitemark. We are an accredited Young Enterprise centre and hold Investor in People status. Sport is a particular strength within the school with hundreds of young people participating in out of hours activities on a regular basis. Our students are particularly well supported on transition into the school and are encouraged and trained to become increasingly active members of the school and the local community. The last word should go to schools council who recently wrote ‘We see our school as a community where we are supported and encouraged to reach our full potential’. Mission Statement ‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10) In our school we aim to: * offer a loving and caring place based on Gospel values * celebrate each person as being unique and of equal value in the eyes of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit * act upon the needs shown by different groups of people * serve all people especially the weakest members * build a community of pupils, staff, parents and governors who work and pray together * help all to use their talents and to give of their best at all times * make a good difference to the world in which we live Man came not to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many Mission Statement At Glan-y-Môr we believe that every child is unique and in possession of talents that are simply waiting for the right environment to be nurtured. Each pupil is expected to give of their best and to make the most of the opportunities that we offer. We expect and encourage all pupils to become fully involved in their learning and strive to become independent learners, “to learn their way into the future”. ur aim is that every student at our school will learn more than they ever thought possible. Respect, Responsibility and Rigour are the core values that have created our purposeful and caring learning environment. At Whitton, teachers teach and students learn.
